Project Managers, Architects, Engineers and Interior Designers for the new flagship, NZIA Architecture Award winning building on the Rotorua Campus. A key requirement was that the entire design was to reflect Toi-Ohomai’s importance to the Maori community; hence the building has a strong Polynesian feel to it and physically relates to Whakarewarewa. The high use of wood, in various guises was used to reflect the business of the Centre, and to achieve of the highest possible degree of sustainability.

The project was completed within the $1.7m budget and time constraints. This building has become a campus icon and the central hall is used for a variety of formal and ceremonial purposes.
